Healing that honors body, mind & heart

Embodied, justice-rooted therapy for those ready to come home to themselves.

Partnering with individuals, organizations, and groups to grow our innate resilience and support healing from individual, collective, and intergenerational trauma — through somatic, integrative, and justice-informed care.

Rita M. Molestina

A space without walls, where your whole self is welcome

Through compassion and respect, I partner with my clients online to create a healing space where you are able to connect with your medicine — wherever you are.

I practice a resiliency-informed and trauma-informed type of therapy that honors the role of the body, mind, and heart in healing. I support my clients in identifying their embodied strengths and calling on these inner resources when life gets hard.

Oftentimes we can't think our way to wellness. This is where taking a more integrative and holistic approach can help us lean into the wisdom inherent in the body — where our long-held patterns are stored.

Somatic therapy attends to the wisdom of the body — the sensations, breath, and felt sense that often hold what words may not yet reach. I weave these practices into our work together as they serve your healing.

About Rita M. Molestina

20+ years at the intersection of healing & justice

I am a licensed clinical social worker in Washington State and have worked at the intersections of community wellness, education, and healthcare equity for over 20 years.

I am passionate about supporting people healing from individual, collective, systemic, and intergenerational trauma — and about growing our resilience from the wisdom each of us already embodies.

I draw intimately from my own healing journey to support the liberation of all. My experience as a cis-gender, queer, first generation US-born Latina, and trauma survivor guides my path towards radical compassion, integrity, and justice.

My training is focused on the philosophies, theories, and practices that have nourished me — including social justice and somatics.

I hold deep gratitude for the trust my clients bring into our work, and for the courage it takes to pursue healing.

Core Values

What guides our work together

Consent

Your voluntary decision to engage in healing in ways that feel safe for you is the most important part of our relationship. You never have to talk about anything you don't want to.

Interdependence

Our need for connection is a real physiological drive — as is our need for personal integrity and independence. Attending to the balance of these forces is essential for wellbeing.

Intersectionality

Each of us embodies a unique constellation of identities that shapes how we experience ourselves and navigate the world. Our conversations may touch on how identity has been part of your experiences.

Mind-Body Integration

Healing lives in the body as much as the mind. A somatic approach attends to the sensations, breath, and felt sense that often hold what words may not yet reach — increasing our awareness of stress responses and the inner resources that are always available to us. This is foundational in somatic therapy.

Non-Judgmental

You are a complete and whole person, just as you are. I do not judge others for their choices or their histories. My priority is always your safety and wellbeing, as well as that of our community.

Sex Positive

Our sexuality is woven into who we are as humans — whether we identify as sexual or asexual beings. Sexual orientation, gender identity, ethical non-monogamy, kink, or healing from sexual trauma are all welcomed topics in our sessions.

Social Justice

Individual healing and the healing of communities who have experienced collective trauma are inextricably linked. Social justice is central to my practice.

Strengths & Resilience

Everything you need for healing is already inside of you. My focus is not on diagnosing what's wrong but on exploring what's working — celebrating your strengths and growing your innate resilience.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is therapy right for me?

If you're here, something in you is probably already reaching toward healing. You don't need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy — curiosity, a desire to understand yourself more deeply, or a feeling that something isn't quite working are all good enough reasons to begin.

What can I expect from our first session?

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. I'll ask about what brings you in and what you're hoping for, and you're welcome to ask me anything too. There's no pressure to share more than feels right — we go at your pace.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes — I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation so we can get a sense of whether we might be a good fit. No commitment required.

What is somatic therapy and how is it different?

Somatic therapy works with the body as a source of wisdom and healing — not just the mind. Rather than only talking about experiences, we also pay attention to what lives in the body: sensations, breath, posture, and felt sense. This can be especially powerful for trauma, which often lives below the level of words.

Do I have to talk about everything?

Never. Consent is central to how I work. You decide what we explore and when. Healing doesn't require you to revisit anything before you're ready — and sometimes it doesn't require revisiting it at all.

How long will I be in therapy?

Every healing journey has its own rhythm. Some people come for a focused period around a specific challenge. Others find value in longer-term work — and as you connect more with your inner wisdom, we'll explore together how to carry what you've built beyond our sessions.

Do you offer workshops or consultation for organizations?

Yes — I work with organizations and groups ready to align their values with action through embodied resilience and justice-informed workshops and consultation. Reach out to start a conversation about what might serve your community.
